Arizona court rules Mexico can proceed with lawsuit against five US gun dealers

On 25 March 2024, a trial court in Arizona, US ruled that the Mexican government may proceed in its civil suit against five US gun dealers accused of facilitating gun trafficking across the border into Mexico. The trial court’s decision closely followed the decision by the Court of Appeals in Massachusetts, which reversed the trial court’s decision to dismiss the case on the grounds of the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act (PLCAA).
