Associated Cases
The Arms Trade Litigation Monitor tracks and documents litigation and other legal interventions against authorised international arms transfers that rely on the Arms Trade Treaty, EU Common Position, other relevant international or regional instruments and/or various domestic laws. However, there have been other cases, referred to by the ATLM as ‘associated cases’ which are only indirectly linked to international arms transfers, but nevertheless can and do have significant implications for the control of the international arms trade. While they fall outside the remit of this project because they do not explicitly concern the legality of international arms transfers, these associated cases remain pertinent to the ways in which allegedly unlawful arms transfers can be challenged and brought to account in domestic legal systems. Therefore, we have included these cases in the ATLM, but in an abridged form.
