Judgements by the Council of State on the Annulment of Remaining Licences from the Request filed 18.12.2017 against the Walloon Government
Armed Conflict in Yemen
Several licences that had not been suspended by previous proceedings were the subject of annulment proceedings that sought to have these remaining licences cancelled.nnn
The court agreed with the claimant’s argument that when authorising arms deliveries to Saudi Arabia, the government had failed to consider the behaviour of the buyer country as required by Criteria 6, in particular its compliance with international commitments regarding the non-use of force and IHL. It therefore called for all licences that came before it to be cancelled.
