Landmark court decision allows Mexico’s unprecedented lawsuit against gun manufacturers to proceed

The US Court of Appeals for the First Circuit t became the first court to uphold the right of a sovereign country to sue the gun industry, allowing the Government of Mexico to pursue its lawsuit to hold gun manufacturers liable for facilitating gun violence. This recessed a trial court ruling that held that the federal gun industry shield law (PLCAA) prohibited the lawsuit from going forward.
