In the complaint against the Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism through an ‘ordinary administrative procedure’ in Spain, the Supreme Court ruled against the plaintiffs on appeal, concluding that making data on arms exports to Saudi Arabia and the UAE public would threaten national and defence security. The court rules that the denial of access to information “is justified and proportionate” since the reports requested by the plaintiffs are classified as “secrets”.
