Edward Bell witness statement of December 2016

Edward Bell, head of the Export Control Organisation in the Department for International Trade – the UK’s export licensing authority, makes a second witness statement on behalf of the Secretary of State. This supplements the statement from August 2016. It provides an overview of the decision-making procedure with regard to licensing decision for arms exports to Saudi Arabia since 5 August 2016.

It references a series of meetings and correspondence between government departments on exports to Saudi Arabia, which are submitted as supporting evidence.
